This is the wind generator I constructed and mounted on my balcony . The generator is a low-rpm brushed electric motor (500 rmp /12V, 1.3W nominally). The wind 12-15 km/h is enough to light the first LED on (~2V). Above, the rest 6 LEDs start to glow (~2.7 V). The total voltage is limited by 7905 regulator to 5V to protect LEDs. Enjoy!

  • are the leds wired parallel?

  • @knightcup yes

  • il make an effort to make one and il post it if its like yours.

  • @knightcup nice! let me know

  • do you have plans for this?

im sure ive the parts to recreate it

  • @knightcup no, I improvised so I don't have plans. The generator is a brushed dc motor that at 12V have only 500 rpm. Probably It could be easy to built even better one from some strong neodymium magnets. The diameter of propeller is 35 cm and it's taken from an old fan.

  • @knightcup Power inverter. It turns DC into AC.

  • Put a nicad battery out there and when charged a zener diode could light a n led

bring the battery in and replace it..
