  • Great how to! I was just curious I installed some spools on my R1 today but as I was picking up the bike with the stand, the spools actually swivelled. I undo the nuts to find that the spool has grinded off my swing arm paint. Did you have anything to counteract this?

  • @Friedriceking

I walked out to check mine and they don't rotate. For reference: I torqued mine down using appropriate lubricant on the bolt.

If you are worried about the swing arm paint rubbing off, my advice would be to use some sort of washer / spacer between the spool and swing arm. The first thing I thought of was a felt washer. High quality polymer or perhaps even copper should help.

  • wow .. nice video ... i'm gonna buy a 600cc bike in couple of months .... i am stuck with Honda CBR 600 / Yamaha R6 / Suzuki GSXR 600 ..... which bike do u suggest me to buy ???

  • @salmankhan117

If you are buying new, there isn't must difference between the current crop of super sports. They are all race bred machines and very close in just about every way.

My best advice is to go to each dealership and sit on each bike. Sit on them in multiple positions (upright, aggressive, tucked in, etc.) and see which bike fits you and feels the most comfortable. Everyone is different.

Sport Rider magazine does a yearly super sport comparison/performance article as well.

  • Awesome video, I ride a 250 but will be buying an r6 in a couple months so now I know how to install these later. Thanks.

  • @SLeRoux92

You're welcome. Enjoy the R6. Spools and a stand are the first things you should get if you plan on doing maintenance yourself.
