Whoa, bass drum has bass alright! Seet!

The Ludwig Standard line was introduced to combat the import of cheap Pearl and Yamaha drums of their time

I own a Gold Strata Kit. Dad bought it for me for good grades in school in 1973.

I just purchased a set of Standards in Blue Strata - complete with hardware and snare. They are on the way. I looked and looked for a Gold Strata kit and never found one. I have several vintage kits and wanted to try out a Standard. So, there ya go. I LOVE the finish on your kit. If you ever want to part with it...contact me. Seriously. Nice color. If you want a Ringo looking kit, I would even consider a trade. Thanks.

I keep trying to get my drummer to buy these.

its just like a ringo kit but a gold hew instead of gray

Can you actually play the kit like this with the mounted tom on the "wrong" side?
The name for that color drum wrap is "Gold Strata" which was only offered on Ludwig's Standard Line, A slightly less expensive drum line they made from about 1968-1974. The Standards used different lugs and lighter hardware but the same 3 ply shells as Ludwig's more expensive drums and were made in the same Chicago factory so these sets can sometimes be a great deal on a good sounding vintage set. I have a set in this same color and they sound great.

This is a great idea - very well done.
If I were looking to buy this kit, the only problem I would have is that I walk away knowing less about how it sounds than before. What I mean is, the examples are so processed and so radically different from each other that it actually poses more questions than answers. I would prefer to hear a recording of how it sounds when you sit down to play the kit. That's my 2 cents.
But you are pioneering a concept here and all in all it's off to a good start.

thank you for your reply and insight. the drums you hear are from a sony acid program. nothing to do with this kit. to get this kit up to speed it would take all new heads and at least a day of tweaking. not to mention proper microphone placement. i thought i was doing good getting in front of a blue screen.lol. do you play?
