Also, if you want to turn the yoghurt cheese into cheese balls, take the yoghurt when it is as solid as it's going to get, usually a couple of days, take it in your hands and roll it into a ball and drop it into a salt brine. go to eHow dot com and do a search for cheese salt brine. It will tell you how to make the brine.
I thought I would add my 2 cents...maybe it will be of help. In my household, I like to use flour sack towels (or similiar fabrics, such as, old pillow cases, muslim, etc.) for projects like this one. It's easier to get all my finished product off of and I can wash and re-use them.
How about using a cheese press arrangment? Would that do it as well but in far less time? If I was to make these, I think that I would make a big batch of yogurt just for this. Good idea with the coffee filter though for small amounts.
@everydayfoodstorage I love that you actually use your food storage. I hate seeing videos where people say you should have so many months or even years of food and never touch it, one its going to go bad and two if you dont ever cook with it how are you going to know what to do if you do need to survive on it. Love the videos!!

The whey makes really, really good soup ingredient. It gives soup a really more complex flavor.

Ha ha, love the little voice at 7:40. Sounds like someone in your house is a big fan of your cheesecake.

you do not have to put it in a cool place, just leave it out for up to 24 hours, it just makes the flavor better also.

Yes does it need to stay cool whilst draining?

Thank you.

I am assuming from the video that you don't need to refrigerate while draining the whey from the yogurt. Is that a correct assumption?
