  • all those years sitting at the vanguard and watching her sing with the big band was always a thrill=1970s

  • Thrilling changes.

And what a vocalist - she loves the altered harmonies instead of being put off by them.

  • This is so beautiful!

  • love dee dee like her since 78...

  • She is ridiculously amazing. And she can scat like a beast. If anyone has any vids of her scatting, please upload!!!!

  • Wow! THANKS FOR POSTING.

She's always been on top of her fashion game. Like Vaughan, I loved everything about the timbre, clarity and dexterity of Bridgewater's voice in the seventies.

  • Dig those earrings....

  • so many great times those mon nites at the vanguard---max even let me have a grilled cheese sandwich one nite

  • I saw Thad Jones and Mel Lewis in Ronnie Scotts in the early seventies and Dee Dee was so young then and so beautiful and the voice was out of this world. In those days you could see Ella Fitzgerald in that tiny, smokey club and get in at the last minute for 5 pounds...and sit down at the front...happy days!

  • Man, she could suckle a sick calf back to health...
