The United States and China are competing militarily to see which nation will have the strongest armed forces on station in Africa to control depleting oil resources.
That's the observation made by the Nation's defense correspondent, Michael Klare, on News Talk Online on Paltalk.com. But Klare, author of the book, Rising Powers, Shrinking Planet: The New Geopolitics believes nations competing for the same finite natural resources would do better if they cooperated in finding alternative energy sources.
Klane says one of the reasons for the current oil crisis is that Nigeria, a leading supplier of oil in Africa, is suffering internal strife. With people in revolt, attacking oil lines.
