The most spectacular musician ever. There are moments in his playing that the notes seem blur into one another at such amazing velocity, as if a demon sped- up a sequencer and threw it into a nuclear blender, though Shawn played it live with those fingers of his. I saw him in the early 90's. He was spectacular!

Do you remember roughly when and where you saw Shawn live?? The early 90's was my fave period of Shawn's music, especially the Powers of Ten period (1992-93).

If you can tell me roughly where and when it was, i may be able to pinpoint an exact date for you.

Yes, the Powers of ten tour at the Troubadour, Los Angeles. 1993 I believe.

Wow, you are so very, very lucky!! That Troubadour gig was on the 9th Feb 1993. What i would give to hear a recording of that gig!

I'd certainly pay $200 for each and any PoT Band gig i don't have (i already paid a total of $135 to get hold of the "PoT Band - South End, Memphis - 12th Dec 1992" gig, which i posted clips from on here, and then converted the whole gig to Audio, split it into tracks, and uploaded it for anyone to download for free (i did that for all the PoT Band gigs i have).

Just out of interest, do you happen to remember seeing anyone at all there with a video camera???.... Just the thought that someone may have recorded it is enough to give me hope of possibly hearing or seeing it someday.

John Petrucci is one of my favorite guitarists as well as Lane ... but I dont think even Petrucci a master of odd time signatures and complicated licks could touch Shawn.
