  • This has to be the definitive version of Eric Bogle's fine song. The Dubs were so successful because not only did Luke and Ronnie complement each other with their different styles and sang great together but they knew exactly who would be best to take the lead on any song be it ballad or bawd!

I hear the tickets have already sold out in heaven for the re-union of this great pair!RIP Ronnie.

  • Gone is the voice of Dublin and the voice of Irish music. RIP Ronnie and thanks for the memories and the melodies that will last forever.

  • This song stays true. Appreciate what any veteran has done for any country, soon there will not be anyone to tell their tale. Go out and say thank you to a veteran, and that will make their day. Never forgotten.

  • ANZAC day 2011 Lest we forget.

  • it send multiple shivers down my spine... such a good song.

  • beaut :)

  • I agree, the definitive version. His voice is like silk.

  • What a beautifully written song, the end of this especilly always brings a tear to my eye. i wrote 2 n a half pages about this in my english a-level final exam as a citation wider reading for modern world war 1 writing.

it was my first A of the entire 2 years :)

    AGREED!!

  • God bless Bogle and The Dubliners. Gallipoli was the blunder of a young Winston Churchill. Curse him to hell! WW2 was also his doing! RIP all Europeans who perished in both these pointless wars.

  • thank you!
