Jennifer Darmon was paralyzed in a car accident over two years ago. When she first started therapy at DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan's Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery, her goals were simple; to get stronger, be more independent, to be able to stand. But her goals just got a little bit bigger. In June 2010, her boyfriend of four years proposed. Now Jennifer has a new goal, to walk down the aisle at their April 16, 2011 wedding.

  • Best wishes always.

  • @TheWorld4all its a double-edged sword unfortunately. The seatbelt probably did save her life, but due to the car being so messed up it also caused this sad injury

  • you're awesome!

  • love cures all! cheezy but true!

  • @TheWorld4all Look at the state of that car though... it's completely destroyed. It looks like the seatbelt did save her life, although it gave her the injury that put her in the wheelchair.

I admire her strength and courage! Best wishes to the happy couple.

  • Real love

  • I thought seat belts were designed to save lives ...not destroy them. We need to come out with better seat belts.

  • You are beautiful and the goal you set for yourself is so inspiring. I will also be walking down the aisle on my wedding day. You are so lucky to have your boyfriend stand by your side next to you after your accident, I was not so lucky when I became paralyzed 3 years ago. Such an inspiring story.
