I am not talking about isolated examples in either case, I am talking about actual ideological principles that explicitly call for the stifling of certain kinds of speech in the former case. An actual thriving literature that justifies it.

They are not exactly that, they constitute a culture and an idiom that encompasses the whole of the Western intellectual world (on the left) which was my original point. As I mentioned, these same speech codes CAN be observed in American Universities (justified by the same rhetoric) . The field of law divides the left in the two societies because the U.S. unlike these countries, has a first amendment.

Business can't possibly make any money unless they offer something the public truly wants. But you knew that as your teachers explained to you the beauty and symmetry of capitalism and why it is a self-correcting mechanism.
Wait a minute... no they didn't. They get paid with taxpayer dollars so they want socialism, and so they try to convince their students socialism works. Frankly, it doesn't. In fact, we should fire their asses and open private schools.
Nothing at all wrong with fossil fuel. I live in L.A. where they cleaned up the air drastically in a basin where the air is mostly stagnant due to surrounding mountains. Everywhere else I've lived doesn't have this geography problem coupled with very low precipitation. Fact is, we've solved our problem in a worse case scenario. Nothing at all wrong with fossil fuels.
That said, I do like electricity, so lets build LOTS of nuclear plants.
@blackdiamond1970 spending. Our main problems are spending and lack of loans. Business has settled into a way of thinking that doing more with less is the way to go. More work with less employees is the future in the business world. Big business is making it's money and aren't going to spend extra money to help the public.
@mollesjohn If we go on a binge and use our natural resources there will be one truth 2 happen we'll still be dependent on fossil fuel. Eventually fossil fuel will run dry and something else will have 2 be done. However I guess for most people it's a good idea 2 live in the moment and not in our children's future.
