10/1/11. I'm still working on it. I'm back to having a sliver of hope that it may happen, which is an improvement in my attitude about it lately. My assignment is to step up and work hard on 3 exercises in particular, and report back on my progress in about 3 months. It's time to either be a hero or a zero..... whatever...... The quest continues.

  • Still amazing Rick.

You might want to checkout Carl Paoli, he has put together a nice progression for handstand pushups.

  • @zimgeo Thanks. I'll have to check him out.

  • One more thing sorry for the wave of advice, You can also do push ups on chairs so you can make your push ups go extra deep and that will also increase your range of motion when it comes to doing the handstand push up

Just keep it up and continue to post video becasue your so close

and handstands can be done well into your 70-90's

im 18 and i plan on doing handtsands well into my 90's :D

    Much Love From Canada!!!

  • @sk8forlifebitch Thank, there's alot of good advice there. I also really appreciate your encouragement. I hope you're right about the handstands into the 70-90's, I'm going to do my best to prove you're right about that. I'm hopeful again, that I can regain the HSPU. I need to be disciplined and put in the training, and then time will tell. Thanks again for all of your advice.

  • awesome, helped me loads with my hspu training, you rock rick!!!

  • @JaboiJake Thanks JaboiJake, glad to hear it.

  • Hey Rick!!!!, Where are you? - itlives

  • The one thing i noticed also is that the muscle that is making you get stuck at the bottom of your push up is your shoulder muscle and triceps

Something that will help your shoulder and your triceps would be Gymnastic rings

    (THERE amazing! )

and for the triceps individually you can try sphinx push ups and in general you should try to find a way to do weighted push ups (YouTube Push up variations"pushups can work all the muscles in the arm" )

anyways i love your video's stay strong

  • try taking 2 chairs and doing your handstand against the wall on them, So just hold your handstand till your about to collapse and begin to lower to the absolute bottom and hold. I can tell you have a good lock out (you can hold your weight very well without moving) ...

hmm whats another good one to help with your range of motion/strength

The press-ups you do with dumbells will help i think you were just tired after doing them because the muscles groups relate very closely

  • Hey I'm so glad you uploaded another video, I've truly been waiting your probably the person I'm interested in most when it comes to handstand progression's

the two things you should try:

Lean against the wall and hold a handstand with your back flat against the wall and hold it till your arms are about to collapse and then slowly lower your body to the ground this will help with the issue of you getting stuck at the bottom with the push ups and the press ups from the ground that u used to do
