5th track from "Horace Silver And The Jazz Messengers" album. Recorded on february 6, 1955 at Rudy Van Gelder's Hackensack studio. Horace Silver (piano); Hank Mobley (tenor saxophone); Kenny Dorham (trumpet); Doug Watkins (bass); Art Blakey (drums).

  • I have a 4 CD collection of "The Best Of" HS, but this little gem is NOT on it. I wonder who decided not to go with such a great & representative-of-his-style tune......probably someone who was looking for the "hit" tunes of the group. For quality, Kenny, Hank, Horace, Watkins, Blakey - how can you improve on those guys AND the solo/ensemble work heard here?!? Well, it's NEW to me & I love it!!!
