For the first time ever, today my Mac has started to act up. I was on Skype with a friend, browsing the internet and rendering a video in MPEG Streamclip and my Mac started acting up and shutting down and turning back on. The first time this happened it completely shut-off and then second time this happened my screen went black and I had to hit the power button to get everything back to normal. Both times this has happened I was rendering in MPEG Streamclip so I have a feeling it might be that program.

  • wow if u listing very close u hear the fan going of the chain

  • macs always epicley fail

  • It's a mac, Thats the problem.

  • your mac hard drive is not responding to the board in the computer or the power is not getting to the systems hard drive

  • So i herd u like heat bombs.

  • thats safe sleep buddy :)

  • thats what happens when you run out of battery power and plug it back in. its resuming the session from before it went to sleep

  • Your mac is in power save mode meaning that it had ran out of juice or it went in to what is called a mac hybernation.

  • I would Open the Macbook and give the heatsinks and fans a clean, its a easy procedure to do... that may help.

  • It is restoring from sleep mode when those progress bars appear. Try doing an SMC Reset, PRAM Reset, and if that does not work, contact Apple.
