  • @ATLAS196533 Regardless, this song (and all other "Prince of Egypt" songs in Hebrew) use Biblical Hebrew, which is very well known in Israel because they teach it to you from a very early age in Tanakh (Bible) class. The only thing that's slightly Modern Hebrew is their pronunciations. I applaud the vocalists/actors for making biblical-style accents, but their Modern Hebrew accent is showing through a little bit :)

  • @ATLAS196533 In terms of vocab and grammar and of building new words, MH and BH are the same (except for added words, of course, which are based on BH words, borrowed from other languages, or invented from scratch). However, the pronunciation and word order in a sentence in MH can be surprisingly European. For example, in BH you could say "(So)Went I (to)home(my)", whereas MH would be "I went (to the)house (of)mine".

  • @ATLAS196533 Okay seriously, you obviously have no idea. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. The letters are different, the pronunciations are different. It's like olde tyme english versus modern english. They're not the same AT ALL.

  • @varfordogjesus i am a jew, but i disagree :) it is an ok language but not a lovely one.

  • Don't talk about things you don't know deatXbyXchocolate. Hebrew modern is the same than ancien hebrew. It has been codified at the end of 19th century by Ben Yehuda who added words who did'nt exist at the time of kingdom of Israel ( For example Car, Bus, Train or computer for example) But the primaries words like bred, fish, door, bridge, road etc are the same

  • @deatXbyXchocolate335

    in israel we speak
