  • How refreshing hearing something I totally agree with, thoughts that have always been at the centre of my thinking which I've never heard expressed so poignently. Having studied Ecology at University for the past 4 years I have sometimes felt dissolusioned by the justification of all conservation actions through human-centric concern. This deep Ecology brings some peace amongst my concern for the future of this planet.

  • Yes! This is my take on it also. Many natives of this world understood this, for example the Native Americans.

  • Yes, however: conservation biology has also resulted in millions of environmental refugees. People have been dispossessed of their homes because national parks (for the enjoyment of a often white minorities) took over; people have been moved at gun shots to infertile areas (in high density); Firewood collection is a necessity for those many who have been dispossessed... I like 'Deep Ecology', but it is a philosophy well suited for the rich.. Social Ecology may be more democratic...

  • hello, I am a biodiversity developer. I designed a park for an Egyptian client on the following concept : don't invent nature, invite it! I wanted to share it with you:

  • He is basically describing how the Indigenous Australians lived....

  • Human kind is fast becoming a pest on this planet. We are over populating the earth and consuming it's resources in a totally unsustainable way .

We need to live in balance and harmony with nature, this balance has been lost and we are destroying our life support system.

Read Daniel Quinn's 'Ishmael' and 'My Ishmael.

  • Pentti Linkola is deep ecology

  • A huge catastrophe is looming. We have become too numerous and capitalist greed destroys nature and wildlife. No , this won't be the end of the world or humanity.Humans will live in difficult conditions and will accept what they wouln't accept now, just to survive.

We can all witness the beginnings of the end of freedom. The end of freedom of thought , the end of free natural places .Every single human connected to some sort of future internet. No possibility to escape.Enjoy your last years!

  • God it feels good to hear this coming from someone other than myself. I was starting to feel like I was the only human alive who gives a shit about mother earth for any reason besides how useful she is as a resource.

  • We have put together a site that showcases aspiring writers in sustainable agriculture. We are particulary interested in the theme of how spirituality (whatever that means to you) can inform sustainability.

You can find us at greenisourgardendotcom

  • We need to start talking about overpopulation again.
