If a huge cult began that followed an alien from outer space, this would get massive media attention. If this cult believed that this alien created everything and everyone and had suppossedly sent one of its own kind to earth to gain a following of people, with the promise that if you follow and believe in him, he will take you to the mother ship where you will live forever.....we would think they were BAT SHIT CRAZY!! How does this idea differ from religion?

As a Christian, I don't care what people choose to say/refuse to say for the holidays. I understand opinions and beliefs differ, this will happen until the end of the human species. I do oppose political correctness in all forms as it's just a ploy to control the human vernacular. If someone is offended by me saying Merry Christmas, that's their problem. Just as, if I'm offended (which I wouldn't be) when someone says Happy Holidays, that's on me and the way I receive verbal tidings/greetings.

@ODDSJUNKIE This is a straw man fallacy. I'm a Christian so I can only speak for Christianity and show you how this differs from the faith of Christ. You misrepresent Christian theism by saying, "outer space". As a Christian theist I recognize that God transcends the universe. He is not bound by it nor does He solely abide in it. I also believe the modern definition of the word "cult" does it absolutely no justice. You can lump almost any devotion to any particular figure/object to culticism.

@XxHatedAtheistxX You definitely have the choice to believe what you want to believe. I suppose wackiness is all about one's perspective. Until you have truly experienced GOD's unending love it might be very hard for someone to understand the breathe and the length that HE is willing to go for our redemption. But thats a journey that I am willing to bet my final destination upon. Trusting in the creation rather than CREATOR; I don't know if that's guts or just the opposite of awesome!!!

@XxHatedAtheistxX It sounds as if you have doubts on whether GOD exists or not. For me, not only has HIS named been imprinted on my mind but my heart as well. GOD didn't let HIS SON die, BUT rather sent HIM into the world so that thru HIS death and resurrection the world would be reconciled unto HIMSELF...Is there a greater love? I don't believe that there is. The GOD of the Universe stepping down from HIS throne and dying on my behalf!!! a wretched sinner!!! WOW!!! GOD is AWESOME!!!

All throughout our society the 10 commandments have been removed, crosses have been taken down, even our Bibles have been removed from our schools. Are we better today than yesterday? Even the mention of the name of JESUS strikes controversy. I wonder why? What's everyone afraid of. Soon HE will return and either you will stand as a friend or not. By the way Merry CHRISTmas!!!! Turn to CHRIST before its too late!!!
