Signed into law on 3-9-45, it protects the insurance industry from anti-trust laws. Are you curious why the GOP doesn't want universal, single payer, or public option in the new Healthcare Bill(s). It's mostly because they are in the back pockets of the insurance industry, although sadly some of the Democrats are basically being blackmailed by them also, this according to Wendal Potter the insurance industry smoking gun. (watch videos of his interviews on YouTube) I read where GOP Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina has recieved a total of $1,674,101 from healthcare lobbyists, you can pretty much guess how his vote will go. The McCarren Ferguson Act pretty much guarantees that unless repealed will let them do to the American public whatever they wish.
