No. $150 is not too much. However, it may be too little. Buying a 5 dollar VHS copy of "movie x" from a bargain bin is a lot less exciting than the 30 dollar 2 disc limited edition DVD. Perception of value is crucial. Also, presentation of the benefits your service will provide is also key. Rather than presenting a "logo", present the exciting opportunity for "brand x" to make a statement in the industry, for example.
I get this on every single job. You tell them it's the minimum and they want more than the minimum, yet don't have a budget for the minimum. Then they promise future work. But it's usually such a piece of crap, there will be no future job, or you have to work on such a low level, that they judge you by the cheap work they paid for, Then they go to the next company that is hot, can't pay for the work and try and negotiate the same deal. Everyone's disappointed in the end.
I've done customer service work for over 15 years. If I had a nickel for every customer that wanted to pull this kind of crap I'd be rich. This type of nonsense is SO unbelievably common it's staggering!!! I've wanted to slap people more times than I can count.
