This video is from atcmonitor(.)com and is a "live" atc monitoring site that allows you to listen in on Atlanta tower, TRACON, and center transmissions while viewing the planes on a "scope" depicting the combined traffic. I say "live" because there is about a 5 minute delay from what you are seeing/hearing and what is actually taking place. If you don't think it gets "insanely busy" though, tune in each morning from 6:30-8:30 EST, and prepare to be blown away.
Actually, the bulk of this traffic is 3 sectors from Atlanta Center. The East Departure and North Departure sectors, which believe it or not, are East and North of Atlanta, and the Logen arrival sector, which handles all arrivals to Atlanta from the northeast. Atlanta Departures leave in a "+ symbol pattern" , north, south, etc. Arrivals come in a "x symbol pattern" from the northeast, southeast, etc. This video isn't someone trying to deceive you with lumping sectors together...continued
that's a bunch of sectors in Atlanta Center and then the atlanta north TRACON sector, with a few of the feeder sectors, so no it's not all one sector or one facility. The white planes are Atlanta arrivals and the bluish/green are atlanta dpartures, everything else is an overflight, the aiport is in the bottom left where all the white planes are..the area with all the white planes in a line in the middle of the screen is all one sector
sorry but there is no way in hell that is ONE sector. It looks like someone "quicklooked" several sectors in the facility onto one scope to make it look as though it was insanely busy. Nice try though =)
that isn't the real view from the scope, that's ALL the traffic within Atlanta airspace. So they are all higher or lower then one another and they are on different frequencys
lol
