@rumpanuthabetha sure, you can line a pan with foil but it's main purpose here is to be able to lift the loaf (or brownies) out of the pan for glazing or slicing. i prefer to grease the pan for delicate layer cakes, etc.

Angie, does the foil lining work for all cakes that ask to grease and flour the pan?

have been making this loaf for 30 yrs now and never fails to come out perfect....

can you use lemon extract instead of the zest of the lemon?

can you use margarine instead of butter?

@brawyn777 Yes...but in a simple cake like this, butter is preferable for it's flavour.

Hi, I've just made this and it was absolutely gorgeous. In fact, it was so nice, I made another one, a couple of hours later (which I will freeze). I didn't have any Yoghurt or Sour Cream, but it still tasted great without it. Very delicate and moist, and the sugar / lemon topping gives it that extra 'kick' of taste! Thanks for uploading the video, great as always. Su x

FABULOUS LEMON LOAF!!! Thank YOU!! Didn't have a cake pan the size you specified, so I used a 6.5 x 2.5 inch round pyrex dish. Used only 3/4 cup of sugar as i prefer cakes less sweet. I will add 1/4 tsp of salt to the batter next time. Deliciously lemony .. i like how u use foil to line your pan. Never seen that before. Saves scrubbing the cake pan. Will make this often. next time on the middle rack. Angie you have another fan... this one from Abu Dhabi in the Middle East!
