Bibi Gurdev Kaur OBE speaks against female infanticide in Punjab and talks about the edicts of Sikh Gurus. She, along with her Sikh Nari Manch Choir, dedicated this Shabad of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to condemn female infanticide on the eve of International Women's Day Celebrations at Punjab Kala Bhawan Chandigarh on 6 March 2010. where her new DVD "So Kyon Manda Aakheeyai" was released.
Bibi Gurdev Kaur OBE strongly condemns the abortion of female foetuses in Punjab and believes that "If you educate a man, you educate one individual but if you educate a women, you educate the whole family and in the long run the whole socitey benefits".
She founded the first ever Sikh Women's Choir in 1998 and named it Sikh Nari Manch, which would have the purpose of empowering and educating women in the greatness and depth of Sikhism through Kirtan and other activities. Bibiji vigorously trained the women, writing Punjabi in English for young girls and English in Punjabi for older women, and enabled them to perform at Gurdwaras and Interfaith Events thus raising their self esteem.
Sikh Nari Manch has been celebrating Mata Sahib Kaur's Birthday since 1999 and has produced calendars on prominent Sikh women's names.
