Solidarity Song directed by Bonny Alves. A Ssignal Production.
Out of concern for the current crisis in Jamaica which has left many people dead and several buildings burnt. Mr. Claude Sinclair, a Jamaican by birth, who is in Guyana courtesy of East Coast International Inc. doing promotional work and scouting for talent, decided to organise a peace concert in Guyana involving Guyanese and Jamaican artistes. It is from this situation that the "Guyana/Jamaica Solidarity Song" was born. Composed and arranged by Bonny Alves, recorded at SSignal Studio/Productions and performed by SSignal Artistes Charmaine Blackman, Devon Denny, Dawn Edwards, Diana Chapman, Queen Makeba, Bonny Alves, Head of the Yoruba Singers Band Patrick Eze Rockcliffe and Young 'Star Guyana 2006' winner and Carifesta X Theme song, singer Lisa Punch. All the principals involved were happy to give their talent and support for a cause they feel very strongly about.
The Event Coordinator Mr. Claude Sinclair believes that the concert will help to bring about an awareness of what a life of crime and gun violence can do to a country and feels that all sister CARICOM countries should take note and become pro-active doing what is necessary to prevent this kind of situation from happening in their respective countries. A second song "I wanna know" is also being recorded at the Vision Sounds Studios, composed and performed by Mr. Claude Sinclair and Guyanese Recording Artiste Alabama.
