This is a thank-you...
This is a thank you to my friend Jim, and a shout to my homie Mic E and everyone at Deluxe Distribution.

The reason for this particular thank you can be understood here:

...and here:
http://smalltimeskates.com/BigMike/

The setup is a Krooked Zig Zagger, some Jamie Thomas Thunders, and some Spitfire Softers... a setup given to me by Mic E when I was on a trip to SF, visiting Deluxe Distribution.

Roll forever.

  • ...last thing, Deluxe was one of my faves way before i got to know anyone over there (though I knew of many of the guys when I was younger because few of 'em were big pros back in my younger days. Peace wilson!

  • hay have u ever rode a real? can u tell me how it is if u have and can u tell me how a krooked is? like a normal one

  • Yeah man, if you check the bottom of my profile you can read abot me and Deluxe (who make Real, Krooked, Anti Hero, and Thunder).

I don't review Deluxe products because I have a very strong bias for them... personally, my favorite boards and shapes, favorite wheels, and they manufacture (but don't distribute) Indy. If I'm not riding a shop board, I ride one of the three board brands under deluxe. Killer wood, great shapes. Disclosure: I'm friends with a few fellas over there, too. I love DLX!

  • ...even fuller disclosure, the main guy in charge of running Real & most of Deluxe is my best friend in California. I spent the weekend with him & his family just a few weeks ago, skating and loving it. The whole company has a great skate-ethic, not to mention that the three companies (same wood, btw) have some of the sickest, rawest, most bad ass skaters on the planet.

    ps,

    ALL HAIL CARDIEL!!!

  • cool i thing im going to get a real then

  • one more question, will i kind of be disappointed if i get this? i never rode an old school board so will it be hard for me to grind, kickflip, ollie, vert stuff like fs airs and such. or will i jsut get used to it and be able to do stuff with it? thanks for the help

  • 58 should be sick... 'm only rolling on 56's in this clip, but 58 would be even better.

  • alright thanks. will 58mm be kinda of small for it to use it as a vert/cruiser and some grinding?

  • It's a little bigger than normal, it has a longer wheelbase, a more squared-off tail, and a pointy nose. It's a lot like the boards I grew up skating on in the mid to late 1980's... these days it would be considered a "cruiser," basically a heavier board with softer wheels for hauling ass around town on. Super fun.

  • how was your zig zagger. is it pretty much like a normal board? harder to do stuff on or easier?
