"Jacob's Dream" is a song from the 2007 compilation album, "A Hundred Miles or More: A Collection", by Alison Krauss. The album was released on Rounder Records and was produced by Alison Krauss. The album peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 album chart, #3 on the Top Country Albums chart and reached #38 on the UK Albums Chart; it is RIAA certified gold in sales.
"Jacob's Dream" was written by Julie Lee and John Pennell and tells the story, in song, of the "Lost Children of the Alleghenies", a true 19th century folk story of two young Pennsylvania Appalachian boys, age seven and five, who wandered away from their home, became lost in the forest and were later found dead of exposure to the elements.
The video is from the GAC Television special "Alison Krauss, A Hundred Miles or More: Live From the Tracking Room", shown on PBS and released on DVD by Rounder Records.
