Rochester's Farewell / If - Michael Nyman

My playing does this song no justice whatsoever, but I enjoy it nonetheless. You may recognise it from the end of "The Libertine" (personally my favourite performance of Johnny Depp's), but it also featured in an animated film version of "The Diary of Anne Frank". Michael Nyman composed the scores for each, and he is my favourite modern composer.
The song is sung by Hilary Summers (a contralto I adore) with different lyrics in each instance. I am playing the earlier version.

NOTE: Unfortunately the camera I used picks up far too much distortion, so the recording sounds terrible. Sorry!

It came in a Michael Nyman sheet music book which features all sorts of favourite pieces from about half a dozen films. I may scan this one some time.
