This is Part-1 of late Summer footage of a Golden Garden Spider (Argiope) I caught and brought home to enjoy in the bushes around my home. Nice close up shots of this beautiful yellow and black patterned female orb weaver. In Part-2 Bob catches her spinning her web at night and into the wee hours of the morning! His nice catch turns out to have a disasterous ending for both him and the spider.

  • Great video. At my house down by the creek we have recently found quite a large amount of these spiders. I am not one to be afraid of spiders, but my mom is terrified of them and when they come up by the house I have to move them so they don't get squished. My question is do they bite and if they do is it poisonous at all? Me and my friend have been relocating them using a salsa jar, but it would be a lot easier if we could just pick them up.

  • @TeamSeymour - Hi "R & T" thanks for watching my spider vid and for leaving a great comment! All most all spiders can bite, most will not bite you as you're much too big for a dinner! Also all but a few spiders use venom to subdue it's prey. Some venom is stronger that others. The Argiope I have been handling since I was 8. Only bit once as a kid, cause I squeezed it! Anyway, jars work nice as the spider, will usually walk off your hands & fall to the ground. Much easier with a jar!
