The possibility of being forced to move out of the Mau forest complex is now dawning on settlers, in the countrys most important water tower. This follows a three-month government ultimatum for families illegally occupying the Mau forest to surrender their title deeds or face eviction. Workers at the Kiptagich Tea Factory, which sits on land that was hived out of Mau, are protesting the move, arguing that the tea farm was their only source of livelihood.

  • Uprooting tea will be very wasteful. Moi should be made to pay back the cost of the land (and then go to Kamiti) and then the govt buys back more land to extend Mau or otherwise the people of Kenya should be given to own the tea estate...

  • This is a set up demo by Moi n Gidi! Kick them all out...what's 2,500 Votes? They can't take anybody to parliament in 2012, even with rigging!

  • why did you take MAU FOREST for your own selfish interests? You need to start looking for new jobs....
