These homes are a new and innovative housing design, built here in Nanaimo, BC. Featuring all the amenities of a large home, but with a small 12 x 12 footprint, this is functional living with style. Shaw TV Nanaimo's Derek Johnstone shares the story.

  • This house would be easy to clean...just set the vacuum down and turn it on. The mice would be hunchback. One fart and the walls would be brown. If he had a big screen tv in that house it would double as a room divider.

  • I'm 14 and I really really want one !!!

  • I could build this myself:)

  • How can I contact this people??? I want one!!!

  • The tradeoff with size is quality. When you build a big house, you may be paying $175/ft2, but your quality may suffer. When you build a small house, you can really afford quality, so you may pay $250/ft2. That's why small houses sometimes seem to cost so much. Totally worth it!

  • I would buy one of these homes if they were available in the Montreal area and I would sell my condo, I would probably work a little bit on the outside esthetics so people do not confuse these homes for sheds, the model with the 2 glass french doors looks more like a home.

  • Good, brand new house building cost around $10000. Search for Cube affordable houses in youtube and go to their website. They offer lots of small and big premises for less money.

Haha maybe it's just cause I live in Canada. Most houses that are nice here are around $500,000.

  • @ObsessedXP Depends on the area. In many parts of the U.S. you can get a large/very nice house for just $300,000.

I suppose it is for it's size... but usually you'd be paying 10 to 20 times that for a normal sized house.
