John Renbourn's "National Seven"
Transatlantic Records, 1965.
It's a blues song about the best road from travelling from Paris to the south of France.
Let's buy Transatlantic Records: better records were never maid!!

  • Yes - the words are by Alan Tunbridge and music by Wizz Jones

  • I've only heard this by Wizz Jones and it is my suspicion that he wrote it. I certainly remember his singing around the clubs in the 60s. Wizz' tune is far nicer for my money. I think Bert mught have played it too, sometimes.

  • The inimitable John Renbourn. Ever wondered why there are no covers of this posted which come anywhere near the original?
