The 777 uses 6 tonnes/hour of fuel compared to 10 tonnes/hour on a 747-400, fuel savings were a lot to do with the BA 15/16 being operated by a 777. The BA 9/10 LHR-BKK-LHR, might be next to be operated by a 777....

The reason for changes was because BA could make more money elsewhere with its B747-400. INDIA to be more precise

BA have been using the Triple Seven for a while now which is great for a change instead of the normal 744 coming to SYD. The 777 only opperates Speedbird 15/16 but not Speedbird 9/10
