Star Ocean: The Last Fail (AKA how LuccaRPG and DNW cope with corny RPGS) 1/3

Ahem. A little bit of backstory on this one.

As good friends, DNW and I play vast amounts of RPGs together. We've done this for 14+ years now! We've played really great RPGs, and then we've played not so great RPGs.

Don't get me wrong, Star Ocean 4 really isn't THAT bad. We're just old RPG curmudgeons and huge fans of MSTK3000 and Riftrax, and we riff or poke gentle fun at corny RPG lines and cliches.

This is just one example of that.

Part 2 will come up as soon as Youtube stops being finicky.

In the beginning on the map thingy showing all the explosions, did anyone else notice that Greenland NEVER GOT HIT?!? Neither did Iceland.

Seems it suffers from the Xenosaga syndrome of lots of cutscenes but somehow not as entertaining or informal. This game feels like it suffers from almost 1st year system game or rushed to be released syndrome.

However, they seem to have spent more time making the game pretty and the music nice. I think the problem with voice acting is the fact that Square or Tri-Ace didn't bother making syncable for English voice acting. Though Kenny at least has a good voice.
