Beautiful muddy water with physics effects in Resistance 2 for PS3. The water simulation is done around FFT algorithms with true volumetric waves that are both procedural as well as fully interactive... that's a first in videogames history ever. Sorry for not so good quality of the video, still the amazing water physics can be made out from this vid. Enjoy :)

  • @AnalogueAbsynth

Crysis 2 has the best water physics, Crysis 1 has none but it looks more realistic than Resistance 2's water.

  • @18T220 crysis just has nice textures, it has no water physics.

  • I am pretty sure Crysis doesn't even have water effects. It just looks pretty. This is how it goes.

  • @webclipper

If Crytek wanted jelly for water i'm sure they would use softbody but they wanted it to look like water.

Why dont you get a PC and see the superior water effects of Crysis 2?

As you said PS2 is next gen, I cant take you seriously anymore.

  • @18T220 hu sd softbody is only cloth physx? plz quote/link :)

Now, u've left games and come to tech demos, fine! Without a world, NPCs, AI, Lighting etc. de can b don on a PS2 hah!

Since u r learning new, now u've called 'impact' fx as the fluid physx, some water lover u r :)

    Fluid has 3 parts:

    1. Impact (Crysis mods hid 'hind it, y water, can b stones)

    2. Buoyancy (Crysis1 only has this one)

    3. Softbody (Toughest, consoles ROCK in it, all my vids 've dis(even PS2 ones), sorry PC fails here)

  • @webclipper

I've unblocked you, but dont spam my videos comments.

Dont cry to much, Who ever said 'softbody' was a good thing? It's only cloth physics on a larger scale, Crysis has softbody cloth physics and could have used this for water but as any non PS3 fanboy would know softbody physics in water looks like jelly not water.

Also show me some fluid physics, I seen all you're videos and I cant see any.

BTW this is fluid physics on PC.

  • @18T220 Question: Why did u block me from ur vid, insecure that the people will know what Cry2 water lacks?

I for one didn't do it, not 4 you, there have been many... a discussion only yields truth that b@tthurt fanboys hide from ;)

2ndly, telling PC specs only makes it more obvious that PC devs are lazy and incompetent, if ur PC can do this and that(mine can too) then why no soft body or fluid physics? I know u tried ur best but facts r facts, no reasonable water FX in PC big hits sorry :)

  • @18T220 Haha ur a child, u failed to put up a decent PC game with full water sim and chickened out wd we don't want realistic behaving water, dude there is a diff b/w "don't want" and "can't have" hahaha! don't worry ur not da first ;)

Also, proof where u found Resis2 water as scripted? all talk no show again? poor dear!

Child, Resistance 2 and Crysis1/2 both have FFT 4 water. Crysis1/2 only 4 ocean, Resistance2 4 all water. Ur sorely disappointed I know ;)

  • @webclipper

Also PC gamers don't want jelly water we prefer realistic looking water.

Just found out that Resistance 2's water is scripted. You lose :)

  • @webclipper

Answer: It does do that only better than a PS3, PS3 is for kids or poor people with no money. Also I see no refraction in you're Resistance 2 videos? Funny. :)

Also My PC can achive Native 1600p, x16AA, x16AF, tessellation, bigger textures, faster loading times, overall better graphics.

PS3 is a shadow of my PC, it runs 95% of all games at 720p or less, x4AA or less, no tessellation, generally blurry textures, long loading times, ect.
