Great lesson. You're a very good teacher.

The AF105NT has become my favorite go to guitar.
The guitar can be mellow and jazzy, great blues tones or flat out rock the house.

ok... I wasn't aware of the Benson version. I learned it from the '78 Real Book, which has Miles original version.

I'm not sure if you're aware that what you're playing As the melody is actually what one could call a harmony to the original riff.
Being there's no melody on the treble clef, only chord placements, the melody resides on the bass clef.
Transposed to the treble clef the notes played are: D,A,B,C,D,E,C,D.
Everything else you got spot on.
No dis-respect intended here. Over all, what your doing is a great and much needed service.
Regards,
R~

Yeah as the double bass is playing the riff on the original this is an arrangement for the sonic range of the guitar. The first D played on the bass is ignored here, instead a grace note to the A is played to keep the groove. In fact it's very similar to George Benson's fantastic version. It's such an iconic riff that even playing it up in a higher register would work too. :)
