  • That neat little rope invention can also be substituted for this really neat thing called a lens strap. I plan on backpacking for a year this coming OCT. 2 bodies, 3 lenses (10-24mm, 28-300mm, 50mm) Gitzo traveler tripod, assorted small stuff (batteries, cards, etc...) plus all the necessary backpacking gear. That extra body wouldnt kill you. What happens when your camera decides to stop working your first day in?

  • Yeah the harness is the best thing. Much more comfortable than those across-the-chest things, where you're sweating on your gear all day!

  • Great tips on the shoulder harness idea! Batteries.. yes, youll only forget them ONCE!! haha
