The optomap retinal exam will allow you to have an ultra-widefield view of the retina. Eyemaginations describes the process of how the optomap acquires the retinal image which is useful for your doctor to diagnose eye diseases that might have otherwise been missed. A comparison of traditional methods versus the optomap retinal exam is explored.

  • I was pretty pissed off when i learned the really annoying giant camera they shoved my face into for 4 blinding shots(most flash blinded I've ever been) was for an OPTIONAL test I had no intention of getting ($40.) "oh we already took the pics, $40 if you want me to look at them." that's a bamboozle..you and izon can go f@ck yourself shiesty selves...

  • OptoHype: The optomap was designed by its founder to help prevent retinal detachments. In reality it will miss many and is no substitute for a dilated eye exam. The vast majority of eye disease occurs in the central part of the retina, best seen with digital imaging. Optomap is very poor at this as its lower resolution and false color of red/green make diagnosis difficult. On the other hand, those marketing its "WOW" to patients, are much better at selling then Optomap is at doing!
