The Road 2009

Release Date: 16 October 2009
Genre: Drama
Cast: Charlize Theron, Viggo Mortensen, Robert Duvall, Guy Pearce, Molly Parker
Director: John Hillcoat
Writer: Joe Penhall
Studio: The Weinstein Company

Plot:
A father and his son walk alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. It is cold enough to crack stones, and, when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the coast, although they don't know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing: just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food--and each other.

  • The father is survival, the boy is humanity. It's like the father is solely dedicated to surviving and protecting his son by any and all means, and the son does his best to keep his fathers humanity in tacked.

  • He use to travel The Road...till he took an arrow to the knee.

  • am i the only one who thought about how in the book the craft was a smaller crew served boat, while here its shown as a whole fishing /industrial craft? THERE IS NO WAY HE SEARCH THAT WHOLE BOAT!!! sorry, I'm just remaining faithful to the book

  • @arquattro2874 I didnt actually think about that haha

  • @hiimjenki2 You can't feel sorry for him. That man was going to leave that poor young boy with nothing too, to die, just in order to save his own sorry ass. Sure he wasn't evil, but he was a selfish bastard who was about to die anyway.

  • Man, i feel sorry for the thief. no clothes, no weapon, everything you had taken from you. you have nothing. i'd lose the will to live.

  • Omar Little!

  • New Mexico.. its a dry heat...good to clear up that cough.

  • I'm sorry. I know I sound like a tool, but this kid.. Oh man.. This kid drives me up a damn wall. He's just so stupid! I know he never lived in the real world but why didn't his father raise him to be harder? He's going to be compassionate, and that will be his downfall. If this were me, I'd make sure my kid was hard. I do admire his caring for the fellow human being, though.

  • Everybody that's complaining about the kid. He grew up sheltered from most of this even though he was living in it, he doesn't know how to be strong. He is a 10 year old boy that just lost his mother for reasons he probably doesn't understand and his father is getting closer and closer to death every mile he goes. He had to grow up fast and you see that in the movie that he starts taking charge and growing up. And also its the directors fault for making him so whiney most of the movie.

  • people need to see that this will happen but doinng this and stripping aman of his clothes... take back which is yours is okay maybe help him slightly make a new friend never stay alone only reasonn i hate this movie.
