1) You don't use road course tires for drag racing

2) You don't use slicks in the wet

3) The Malan looks like a piece of shit because the company owner (who knows nothing about engineering) wants to influence the car... he has horrible taste.

4) When speed aired the episode featuring the car, they knew damn well it was a Factory Five GTM... SPEED has a strong relationship with that cocksucker Carrol Shelby and he told them to use the MALAN name to piss off Factory Five.

@ChrisJuliano It's a toss up for me... they have supposedly spent $500k in marketing for the car (myspace features.. speed ect.) to get the GTM out there and known. However at the same time they are saying they are building a superior product as opposed to us at home builders when in reality 95% of us have turned out much better cars then them. The issue is Malan's narcissistic owner... even the name GT Malan comes from GTM - Alan (his first name). But if Malan devalues my GTM, I'll be pissed.

@godspeedR18T Can anything look too much like the GT40? I guess yes, if you don't like GT40s. True, there's obvious similarities to the GT40 in the front, but the rear end looks nothing like a GT40. The whole car looks more modern than even Ford's GT revamp of the GT40. It has prettier lines, but I would say that.

@ffrgtm Gotta respect them for taking someone's awesome design investment, then making a few changes on the back-end and renaming it to make it seem like their very own accomplishment. Surely you respect that? I know I don't. GT Malan my ass.... it'll always be a Factory Five GTM no matter who builds it and sells it. Factory Five are such a humble company that even they don't have a problem with Alan Autosports doing this. If I owned FF, I'd sue them into the next universe.

i love the traction excuse's here , the Milan had drag radial's they slip on wet surface's !! and the Vette's didn't ? come on .. just because its expensiver or prettier doesn't make it nicer , i doubt the vette drivers packed an extra set of rear tires in the trunk, and i doubt they drove to event with all season tires either.

@ChrisJuliano ive always loved everything that FFR does and has done. The GTM is cool because they have recently redesigned the car to make it more aerodynamic and easier for the builder to build and paint.
