  • Yes they come with fans. Been tracking the temps, they never that warm even in the summer. Have a lint filter in the front, so they don't even pick up much dust. Have yet to have a HD fail. They are hot swappable.

  • Wish I could have afforded a Xeon cpu... But then again it does fine, there is not much load on this.

  • This is a file/media server. Pictures, video, music, CAD....

  • lol at the cat

  • I was thinking of setting up a file server and this video was very helpful. I was either going to use my current systems for the build or an old system I don't use anymore. Most of the machines I currently use are no older than four years, with my two main systems being 1-3 years old.

My three year old machine has some issues with airflow, but if those drive enclosures come with fans I shouldn't have an issue.

PS--I like your cat. I also have a black cat, except he's got tuxedo markings.

  • I hear an angry cat....

  • mind = blown

  • @HackMastery007 At this point a i3, i5, or i7 would be better, the lowest end core i7 is still a quad core but is much cheaper than the xeon cpu and packs a punch. Very stable aswell.

  • nc build!Although, a xeon cpu would made this machine ready for badass server!ing

  • its a all in one pc thats i tink

  • Hi incredible setup you have there. I´m actually working on the build of something similar. I need to build a hard drive array cappable of reading at least 400 mb/s from very large files (25 gb blu ray movies iso files). it would be great have your email or something to share info about my actual setup (16Tb) and 4 blu ray burners.
