Head of State that supports Australia at sport?

Prince William, despite being Australia's future monarch, has thrown his support wholly and solely behind England's World Cup bid. Clearly, he regards himself as English, and perhaps a little bit Welsh, but not at all Australian. Shouldn't Australia have a head of state that cares enough about this country to support Australia at sport?

what a load of nonsense. where did you come up with that figure? the cost of that referendum was, according to the auditor-general, about $90M (£45M). Please don't spread misinformation.

as a simple reply to your view of voting on it every generation, the last vote (referendum) on becoming a republic in 1999 cost the taxpayer $760m (£405m) I'm sure that this figure will have increased a great amount in 10 years and i think that of it a waste of money which could be better spent on health and education.
