A FATHER'S ODYSSEY - 75 Marathons in 75 Consecutive Days -- Pt 1 of 3

In our 3-part interview Lori and Terry talk about the difficulties not only in raising 3 very young children as a single parent after the death of his wife, but of the challenges faced by children and parents across the U.S.

In Part 1 Lori and Terry describes the loss of his wife, Sue, to cancer. After his wife's decline and death he had the trauma and emotional impact of the loss and his next great challenge: the need to raise 3 children by himself.

In Part 2 Terry talks about the running from the Twin Cities of St. Paul & Minneapolis, Minnesota to Atlanta, Georgia to bring awareness to the public of single parenting. He is thankful for the media coverage by television, radio, and newspapers to help inform the public of his run and the needs of children. Terry's run had incredible physical stress on his body with bone fractures in feet and legs, muscle and mental exhaustion, and running day after day for 75 days.

. Selections from A FATHER'S ODYSSEY ----

"I was physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. Every morning I'm relying on the people at home to get me back on the road.On the one hand I'm glad the Run is about over, but on the other hand, I wish it could continue because of the good that I sense is being accomplished....."

DAY 15: THURSDAY, MAY 16
A wonderful and remarkable thing happened Thursday, a moment I'll never forget. My son Chris asked a little girl why she thought his dad was doing all this running. She stood there and pondered the question, looked at me, turned to Chris, looked him straight in the eye and said, "Because we are fragile." Her voice was sure and without hesitation.

In Part 3 Lori and Terry talk about his best day, support by those he meets during his run, his book, "A Father's Odyssey", the documentary film of Terry's story, and we show the documentary film trailer.
