This video shows how I get in and out of the pool. I am paralyzed from the arm pits down (T1 complete) and do not have any core or lower back muscles. This makes swimming tricky but with some practice, I feel very comfortable in the water again. Helpful hint: Wear a pair of boxer briefs under your swim trunks. It's just some added protection to keep from flashing the world while transferring. :)

  • How long were you hospitalized?

  • @ronvins Actually, I was back at home a month after my accident. I recovered really fast but I still had to learn how to live again once I was back home...that was the hardest part.

  • hey I have a balcofin pump I don't mean to be mean does it hurt you with your pump getting scend up by you leaning you body up.

  • @bekeberg No, I don't have problems with the pump when I transfer.

  • Hey dude, did you let one go as you got out the pool?

  • @itsbarnsey haha, that's hilarious! I thought the same thing when I made this vid but no, it's just from me sliding on the wet mat.

  • I was born a paraplegic & I am 16.

I LOVE swimming because I can move my legs when I am in the water. After all these years I have obviously scratched the hell out of my legs & feet crawling on the hot concrete to get into my chair. I LOVE the yoga mat, I am going to buy one before I go to Panama this year. Thanks for the idea!

  • @blackpearlv6 Wow, that's amazing. I'm glad you recovered well and seem to be doing good, I can't imagine how hard it must be to get back in the groove of things after having your life turned around like that. I see all disabled people as an inspiration to not give up, it's truly something I think about when I feel uncertain of myself.

  • not sure*

  • now sure how I ended up on your channel! But after watching a few of your videos would just like to say - you sir are truly inspirational! Great stuff.

  • What kind of tattoo is that on your back. I am pretty sure I know, but I'm not positive.

  • You're such a cutie :) Hope you've been doing good lately! xx
