the poeple who were known as illyrians didnt go by the name of 'Illyrians" this is just one name of a tribe which first came into contact with ancient Hellenic and Roman historians...this name was used to denote the rest of the tribes speaking the same language. just like now all the surviving Illyrian tribes are called as Albanians a name taken from one illyrian tribe.

After Rome's invasion don't you guys like vanish from history? You appear in Byzantine manuscripts around the 14th c AD under a different name; if you were Illyrians then why did the Greeks and Romans rename you?
