The complete version of 'Asteroid' by Pete Moore, better known as the Pearl and Dean theme. The cinema advertising company used the first 18 seconds for their famous ad music, but the original is actually this 2-minute big-band number. This arrangement uses the 80s to present-day version of the theme, rather than the 70s version.

With thanks to Chris Kalcov, formerly of Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School.

  • my new ring tone-thnx

  • @captainumbnuts: Nice. If only I could rip it for the iPhone...

  • I am actually related to Pearl. My grandad was the son of Pearls sister. Because my grandad was born 'out of wedlock' he was disowned and was adopted by a family in Cornwall. Apparently they were real playboys and when my grandads mother died, Pearl turned up on his doorstep and gave him some money. I am sure I could write a novel lol :-)

  • @Painteddeath100: Fascinating! And please do write that novel...

  • Where's me Ki-Ora then? Thanks for posting this great memory.

  • @kaferere: Ki-Ora haha yeah! And the local Indian restaurant down the road with 70s flock wallpaper :-)
