  • I would buy a Powerhouse album in a heartbeat. Absolutely fantastic!

  • The kids on Glee can sing. These kids can sing better. WAY better.

  • @SirHaakon Good point. I should have realized all of that since I was in Show Choir in high school lol. But usually you have to buy the music from somewhere to have the rights to perform it don't you? I'm not super knowledgeable on it, that was just always my understanding.

I wasn't insinuating any conspiracies or anything! Sorry if it came off that way. I just thought it was interesting that a song she never officially released was being performed by a high school show choir XD

  • @DWSMusic93 Music licensing is a very grey area in show choir, but it's largely tossed aside as these are high school groups putting on local shows not for profit. Carly didn't have anything to do with Powerhouse doing the song (just like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, or any of the other millions of artists whose music is performed in show choir didn't either)... Powerhouse just loved the song and thought it fit the theme of their show well. No conspiracies, just a cover of a great song. :)

  • @MrAlexH1991 I don't think that she was ever in Powerhouse at all. She had already been done with Idol when she wrote this song. It was written by her to go on a solo album before she joined We Are the Fallen and then once she joined the band the solo project was scrapped. Along with this song. All she ever said publicly about it was that she was probably going to shop it for other artists to record. I guess it went to Powerhouse?

  • @DWSMusic93 Wait, was Carly Smithson a member of Powerhouse when they did this song?

  • @MrAlexH1991 XD that didn't even cross my mind, but it's 100% true haha. I can't imagine that Carly would grant the rights to a show choir before she'd have it released by an actual artist. But maybe she's just taking what she can get right now. Who knows? She hasn't spoken of these songs since joining We Are the Fallen :(

Anyways, that was off topic haha. But yeah, you definitely have a point for sure lol

  • @DWSMusic93 Its either really cool, or a copyright infringement. lol

  • This is an incredible song by Carly Smithson. Powerhouse does it justice, but not quite as well as Carly. I wish that she'd release this song on her own :( It's cool that someone is showcasing her unreleased music though :)

  • Love Love Love!
