Yep. He loads up with his upper body and gets a lot of action with his left shoulder. The magic though is in his lower body rotation.

This is why i teach the individual....not the textbook. how it looks doesn't count for shit....all i ask my students to be is EFFECTIVE and repeatable...if they're in control of the instrument and can do the same thing over and over, who cares what it looks like??
