well an esophageal hernia is usually in the esophagus. It's part of the stomach climbing up through the diaphragm hole and creating an acidy sac. not fun.

yeah it worked. i didnt have heart burn afterwards. but they tend to fall apart after many years and while you are growing. the first one i got (when i was 12) fell apart 4 years afterwards so i had to get it done again. i think it might have fallen apart again but my gerd isnt acting up
