Presidential hopeful John McCain stopped by the University of Pennsylvania for a town-hall meeting with the Republican student body. Over 900 attendees packed Penn's Zellerbach theatre to hear the Republican presidential candidate and to ask questions. Former 9-11 commissioner John Lehman and Utah Governor Jon Huntsman sat on stage in armchairs while McCain delivered chilling warnings about "Islamo-fascism", global warming, and the Iraq war.
Phony liberals and aspiring neo-cons dominated the q&a session with softball questions and did not fair to illustrate the failings of their paradigms. A minority of the questions barely even scratched the surface of any issues of import. Fortunately there were two questions that changed the tone of the forum by challenging the Senator to address matters of deep controversy. McCain was confronted on his endorsement of the Popular Mechanics book entitled "Debunking 9/11 Myths" which along with the 9/11 Commission Report, failed to address a multitude of government whistleblowers. McCain's supporters jeered and shrilled in favor of smothering the dissenting voice. Another questioner called out McCain's hypocritical support for the War On Terror citing evidence of the U.S. financed terrorist groups in the Middle East. Unfortunately, the woeful ignorance of the crowd allowed McCain to elude the question and transition into a grandstand moment about his anti-torture stance.
