  • @thekendemetrishow Ella also covered Stevie's songs as well as a long list of major vocal and instrumental Jazz artists. Etta James also recorded a great version of 'Inner City Blues' on one of her albums in the early 90's.

  • @thekendemetrishow The 'What's Going On' album has a strong Jazz underpinning, in terms of the chords and the elements of Jazz improvisation, so its only natural that Jazz musicians would gravitate to the songs. Also Marvin's piano playing and drumming was heavily Jazz influenced and Motown's house band, 'The Funk Brothers', who played on the album, were originally Detriot based Jazz musicians, so the album had as much of a Jazz influence as Gospel, Soul, Funk, Pop and Classical (strings).

  • @thekendemetrishow Actually Jazz musicians are particularly drawn to Stevie's choice of chords (which are very Jazz based) and chord progressions. Stevie and Marvin are among the most covered soul/pop musicians by Jazz instrumentalists.

  • @redcreem - Have you heard Ella do "What's Goin' On" at the Newport Jazz Festival in '73? Classic! Seems like Marvin's R&B phrasing translates amazingly well to pure jazz artists given the brilliant covers of his songs (in a way you rarely get from Smokey or Stevie)

  • If any dudes suffer from erectile dysfunction...You don't need Viagra...Just Sarah Vaughan's vocals (!)

  • What strong vibration comin across despite data transfer through web, local areas and God knows what else, imagine her live... Talkin voices: heard of Nancy Wilson's "Sunshine"? Probably you know it already, if not find it here in the tube, happy nu year

  • the five years of absence probably gave her the opportunity to regroup and try again in a system that was difficult and unfair all you have to do is watch the early video and see whats going on just watch the audience it really isnt that hard to see if you bother to look this is a wonderful recording thanks fellovergen whoever you are and naturally sassie, the musicians and the writer
