how can you build a 955 engine from a 748 one?? wouldn't it be better to use a 916 engine instead?? fukin lies u!! u u u u u u u u !!

@TrulyUniqueOne - This is an original 748cc engine in which the original 88mm cylinders were replaced with 96mm cylinders and the original 61.5mm stroked crank was replaced with a 66mm stroked crank (which = 955cc). The cylinder stud spacing on a 748 is the same as a 916, but machining must be done to get 96mm cylinders to fit a 748 case.

@TrulyUniqueOne - Would it be better to use a 916 over a 748? It would be less work, but because this 748 is a 1999, it has significant advantages over prior 916s. The major advantage being the new 3-phase electronics that were introduced in 1999. Why not just get a 1999 996 then? 748 engines were lighter and also came with a close ratio gear box.

I bet that not many of you know what thing this bike is. 955 was a reduced prod. bike, it came out of the 916 but has the Corse kit that ran in superbike class. It has 2 injectors rather than one as 916 has and this bike is SO RARE.
Masterpiece. I hope the owner know what kind of thing he owns.

@sinner00000 - This is not an original 955 corse bike. The 955 engine was built by FBF from a 748.
