Just a quick demonstration of the OCDP solid maple snare drum. The camera used is a Cannon Power-Shot SD600. Keep in mind, the camera's built in microphone doesn't do the snare justice, and after uploading it to youtube, the quality is a little worse. It sounds quite a bit better in person. The top head is a fairly tightly tuned Aquarian Studio-X coated head, and the snare side head is a loosely tuned standard ambassador, increasing the overall sensitivity of the snare. Overall, I'm happy with the sound and durability of this snare, although that may have to do with my old snare being a pearl forum series. Enjoy.

  • would you be willing to trade for a black panther

  • @echsdrumline Sorry man, I'm too happy with it! As far as I know, they still sell this model through musicians friend. I recommend finding one!

  • How long ago did you buy it? 'Cause I live in Mexico and 199 dollars would be like 2300 pesos, but if I order it, I'll end up paying almost 5000 because of taxes and stuff. Maybe you bought it when if first came out as a "prototype" or something, 'cause 199 is an unbelievable price.

  • @satanicpunker182 I bought this about a year ago. I would just look around for something else and save the hassle. There are plenty of nice snares out there, and this just happens to be one of them.

  • @tannermittan7 Yeah, but the finish and sound on this is pretty awesome... I did some more research and found out that musician's friend has it way cheaper than guitar center... I don't know, maybe I'll go pick it up in a few months personally, although I'd like to know: is it really 10-ply maple wood?

  • @satanicpunker182 Yeah it's definitely 10 ply, but I'm almost positive the outside ply is ash, just to give it a better look.

  • hi!! great snare btw! just wondering, do u know whts the difference between this snare and the Vented one?? which one do u suggest for playing in a Funk Band?? -thanks-

  • I've had this snare for about a year now and I really like it thus far. Only 2 things I have a problem with it though. 1. The stock head...I broke thru it in about an hour of practice but a simple upgrade to a Powerstroke w/ Dot works fantastic. 2. The first one I had of this I had to replace because the screws that held the snare clutch on snapped in just a few months...that shouldn't happen at all lol. Over all though it has a great sound.

  • @tannermittan7 yea i want one but i want the red sparkle finish

  • hit that thing, rim shot!!!
